The Amazing Spider-man 3.75" Ultra Poseable Spider-man

One side Avengers, here comes the Amazing Spider-man!

I passed on this figure at first as I didn't like the costume. Came across it during a recent sale and decided to pick it up. What put me off of the costume are the extended red area in the front, the long spider legs of the logo and the silver soles of his feet. I can't really say why, I just don't like it. The design of the costume aside, this is a nice figure. Its well sculpted and has great detail. The eyes and front logo are sculpted on. And not only are there tiny depressions on the blue areas, there also tinier depressions on the red areas. Very nice. The figure has two open hands whereas the package shows that he should have had a fist and a web shooting hand. I think that would have been better.

He does not come with any accessories. Its just good ol' Spidey.

Comparison with the SDCC excluisve Spider-man movie figure. I prefer that figure for the closer to the comics look. I don't like the silver lines though, wish they were black. Each figure has a point of articulation which the other should have. The SDCC one has calf swivel while the Amazing Spiderman (ASM) has ankle pivots.

Here's the rundown of the articulation on the ASM. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, torso pivot, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot.

I love the neck hinge. All figures should have that. Spidey can look up...

... and down very well.

As always, you can click on the images to enlarge.
