Marvel Legends Ghost Rider (Terrax Series)

I haven't kept up with what's been going on with Ghost Rider. The online images of this figure were the first I've seen of him with blue flames. I did a quick check. I think this is supposed to be Danny Ketch and the blues flames came about after he got his powers from Zadkiel. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

On to the figure. I like the headsculpt. Or I should say the the paint on his head. The various shades of blue makes it look like his whole head is in flames and not just at the top of it. I think some black mixed in would make him look even better, it would give it more contrast. I really like how some blue was painted on his shoulder pads and costume. It gives the effect of the glow from his flames.

He's wearing what appears to be an armoured tailcoat. I'm fine with the front but I don't like the back view of it. To be more specific, the tail ends. They remind me of a conductor's or band uniform. I think they could have done without the tail ends in this design. Or if they must, make it a trenchcoat or something. The coat on the figure is rather big and bulky. It makes his torso look short, thus making him stumpy looking overall. It prevents him from putting his arms down by sides. There are pegs on the coat which you can release to allow his arms more room, but then his coat will be lopsided. You can remove his coat if you wanted to but it is very troublesome. There's great detail on his shoulder pads, gauntlets and leg plates. There's some design on them but the best parts are the dents, cracks and charred appearance.

To illustrate the musician's look. I can imagine him playing all sorts of instruments and he'll still look cool. Any idea what song he's singing? No prizes for guessing though.

Here he is with his coat removed. He looks pretty good.

Articulation. He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and swivel hinge ankles. The shoulder pads prevent him from raising his arms.

He needs a bike. If I were to make one I would use the ML3 Ghost Rider's bike as I like it better. That's a project for another time.

Some comparison shots. He's around the same height as most other normal sized 6" scale figures.

KFC Avengers Thor

KFC's Avengers collectable for this week is Thor.

I was hoping for Thor to be just as good as Captain America but alas he's not. The head is the worst part. The way his hair is sculpted and looks is like he's advertising for a shampoo commercial. He's got an uninterested look on his face. His pupils are so big you think he'll try the same tactic as Puss in Boots in Shrek. His torso is pretty much a rectangle with some design on it. Sorry, I got ahead of myself there. I almost forgot that this is a fast food toy. Check him out for yourself. You can click on the images to enlarge.

Mjolnir is removeable. It fits loosely in his hand. (Caution for those with young kids or pets, the hammer is a choking hazzard.) There's a good reason for that and that is for his gimmick. Raise his rght arm until it locks into position, then push the button on his back and he'll throw his hammer. It works pretty well. I think its the best part of the toy. For articulation, you can only move his arms.

Comparison with the Hasbro figure.

That's all for now, thanks for viewing!

The Avengers 3.75" Shock Strike Thor

Thor rounds up the Avengers movie 3.75" figures released so far. Well, there's also the Hulk but I didn't get him as I prefer the 5" figure from the Incredible Hulk movie line.

Thor is a nice figure. Good sculpt. He's got a better likeness than the figures from the Thor movie line. He has a mean high and mighty look. And the straighter hair makes a difference. The costume is of a different design from previously. There's great detail on it. The cape is the same one that came with previous Thor movie figures. Its long and grand but it can hinder posing him, especially in crouching or kneeling positions. He's got good paint. I like the navy blue colour instead of black.

This figure is slightly taller than the previous Thor movie figures. The unarticulated body does make him look better.

Aside from the regular Mjolnir, he comes with a hammer launcher. Its pretty cool looking with the lightning effects. It has a peg and clip for him to hold it with. The projectile is a lightning charged Mjolnir. With the projectile loaded, its difficult for him to stand with the launcher.

Thor doesn't need no launcher. He can throw Mjolnir on his own.

Articulation, He's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, ball hinge hips, thigh swivel and double jointed knees. That's the same as Captain America.

I like that there is some height difference between the characters.
